Teaching life skills through drama and imaginative play
Pyjama Drama’s classes and performances develop life skills through drama and imaginative play. For children from six months to age four, our sessions are carefully age-differentiated to create the perfect environment for your little one to have lots of fun singing, moving, playing and pretending.
Children learn to:
· Build bonds and make friends
· Communicate their ideas, thoughts, and feelings with new vocabulary
· Communicate non-verbally (facial expression and body language)
· Listen and concentrate
· Understand their own and others’ emotions
· Manage their emotions
· Manage conflict in relationships
· Solve simple problems for themselves
· Make decisions with confidence
· Believe in themselves and know what makes them special
…all skills which help them enormously when they start school.
Established in 2005, Pyjama Drama is multi award-winning, rated 5* on Trustpilot, and adored by children and parents alike across the UK and internationally.
Dewdrops classes (age six months to two) 30 minutes / weekly
Children and their parents/carers enjoy sensory play and movement, original Pyjama Drama music and stories, and as their imagination begins to develop, move up to our ‘Raindrops’ class. Dewdrops classes often enjoy a ‘stay and play’ half hour at the end for parents.
Raindrops classes (age two to three years) 35 minutes / weekly
Our talented teachers take your children on a different adventure in each class – one week might be a trip to the moon with the fairies, the next, experiencing their first visit to the dentists. Highly physical and lots of fun.
Rainbows classes (age three to four years) 40 minutes / weekly
Our talented teachers take your children on a different adventure in each class – one week might be helping the dinosaur who’s lost his roar, the next, teaching the friendly witch how to fly her broomstick. Highly physical and lots of fun. Slightly longer than our ‘Raindrops’ class due to older children being able to concentrate for longer in our pretending section.
Interactive Performance Club (age three to seven) 60 minutes / monthly
The joy of the theatre is the shared experience between audience and performer and a Pyjama Drama performance is no different. Audiences are actively encouraged to get involved; singing, dancing, playing games and taking on different roles (one minute a goodie, the next a baddie!). You’ll be in awe of your performer who will command the stage alone (without props or costumes), creating imaginary worlds and characters by igniting imaginations!
Please note, ages are a guide, and your teacher can help assess which class your little one would be most suited to, based on their development. To find out more about Pyjama Drama visit their website at https://www.pyjamadrama.com/
